NOT DEAD YET - SHAK T-Shirt

Continuing on with our range of T-Shirts available to buy on line, which tell the REAL story of rescue as it... tonight I am proud to release a rework of an old SHAK classic.

Incredibly, this Tee has even more prominence than ever before, as this week has seen the charity really come to the fore and save a life,  perhaps even twice.

Whilst driving to the kennels on Sunday I was about 15 seconds behind witnessing a young lurcher running into a car on the A1. All I did see, was the driver in distress, and the dog unable to stand. I will never forget him frantically throwing himself around in pain and squeeling with every step he tried to take. Using all my experience, I managed to calm the dog down. Softly comforting him as I gained his trust, he allowed me to place a lead on him as we waited for a vet to attend.

Xrays confirmed the dog had open fractures on both front legs, I have to say, I have never seen a limb so badly distorted as one I saw on Sunday.

On Monday, unfortunately the owner was unable to pay the estimated £6,000+ to repair the legs, and the decision was made to put the dog to sleep.

I hadn't been able to get him out of mind, still seeing him hurtling through the air unable to stand. I now know why. I rang the vets to see how he was, and on learning the latest, I knew I had to act.

He was signed over to us, and I then rushed him to a specialist vets to get both legs repaired.

We now have a bill of £6,500+ (including the original treatment on Sunday) but our boy is alive.

A couple of very generous people have already donated/pledged a huge amount of that.... but we still have to raise £2,500 at time of writing.

Bizarrely I had already ordered a sample of this T-Shirt...  now it seems even more important.

So, all proceeds of the new NOT DEAD YET T-Shirts will go towards paying this young boys vets bill and towards his long road to recovery.

(I have not disclosed the dogs name out of respect for the owner and people involved in the accident. )
